Im Rahmen der Schulpraktischen Übungen im Fach Englisch in einer 6. Klasse an einem Gymnasium leitet die Studentin thematisch von einer Textarbeitsphase zu einem Video über, zu welchem die Schüler*innen Fragen beantworten sollen.

[Die Studentin steht vor der Klasse.]

Studentin:

Alright. [Sie geht wieder zum Lehrertisch.] It seems like, ähm, all of you are finished. So we move on with our next, äh, little task. And, äh, we just talked about, ähm, food labels, ähm, so Yuna mentioned, ähm, ‚use by‘ and ‚best before‘. And, äh, we want to find out the difference between both terms, so what, äh, do they mean. And therefore, I prepared kind of a quiz for you, so … [Sie holt Arbeitsblätter hervor.] Just read the questions carefully.
[Die SuS werden etwas unruhig. Die Studentin teilt die Arbeitsblätter aus.]

Okay, just take a look at the questions and then, ähm, you can maybe already guess what you think is right or wrong. But we’re watching a video afterwards, äh, so that helps you to, ähm, find the right answer. But just read through the questions right now before we watch the movie.
[Sie stellt das Video auf dem Smartboard ein. Die SuS lesen sich die Fragen auf dem Arbeitsblatt durch.] And if you don’t understand something, just ask me.
[Rosa meldet sich. Die Studentin geht zu ihr und redet leise mit ihr.]
So if some of you are wondering what that is, just please listen to me. In Germany we have the ‚Mindesthaltbarkeitsdatum‘, right? So that is the food label. And ‚best before‘ and ‚use by‘ is kind of similar to that, okay? So … that’s what we are talking about. [Rosa sagt etwas zu ihr.] That’s what we want to find about.
[Die SuS werden wieder ruhig und lesen leise.]

Okay, are you ready to watch the short video?
[Einige SuS antworten mit ‚yes‘. Eine/r der SuS macht das Licht aus.] Thank you. [Sie spielt das Video auf dem Smartboard ab. Die SuS schauen sich das Video an.]
